Boasting Bengal: Sean Escobar

Sean Escobar has lead a very fulfilling life since graduation and is very passionate about his family, his career, and his lifestyle.

Sean was introduced to his wife, Crystal, by a fellow Bengal, Brenda Drollinger. (Coincidentally, Crystal has a journal entry from years past where Brenda had prophesied that she would someday introduce Crystal to her husband.) Sean will forever be grateful to Brenda. He feels Crystal is the most wonderful person in the world, and is also drop-dead gorgeous. It was love at first sight for Sean, and Crystal saw potential. :)

Sean and Crystal had a couple of things in common that drew them close right from the start. Firstly, they both had served missions for their church--Sean to Virginia and Crystal to Germany. Second, they knew a lot of the same people as Crystal had attended Butler Middle School. The same year Crystal left was the year Sean transferred to Butler; they just missed each other. Then they literally traded places--Sean to Brighton and Crystal to Skyline.

The third thing they had in common was that they had the same beliefs about money and financial freedom. In fact, Crystal was pursuing her own career in another relationship marketing company when they met. It was Crystal’s results on the Nutritional Cleansing Technology that proved to be the deciding factor in her joining forces with Sean in Isagenix. Because of their own results, they felt a moral obligation to share this technology with everyone and anyone that would listen. An incredible residual business opportunity was born and they have been doing their business full time ever since. They are passionate about helping young people like themselves find a way to get their health in check and supplement their income without risking the farm. What a blessing to help so many people improve their health and quality of life by introducing them to the concept of nutritional cleansing.

After 5 years of marriage they now have 2 kids, a 3 year old daughter named Lily and a newborn son named Oliver or “Olly.” They also have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Sean and Crystal are living the life of their dreams in Draper, where their home is tucked against the Wasatch Mountains. They can literally hear the horses and chickens from their kitchen window, and the deer come right into their back yard. Sean and Crystal both feel that it is such a blessing to work from home and spend the majority of time with the ones they love the most.

In Memorium: Erich Tabert

Erich Thomas Tabert

4/27/1981 ~ 11/17/2007

Erich Thomas Tabert, 26, was born April 27, 1981 in Loma Linda, CA. Our beloved son was suddenly taken from us on November 17, 2007 at the hands of another. Erich had a beautiful smile that lit up any room he walked into and drew people to him. He was easygoing, kind and trusting and had many friends. He was passionate about soccer both as a player and a Liverpool fan. He was a voracious reader, an Eagle Scout, and an avid Star Wars fan. He enjoyed the friendships he made with his online gaming group. Erich graduated from Brighton High School in 1999. He was enlisted in the US Air Force while he attended the Air Force Academy Prep School. He also attended the University of Utah. He is survived by his mother and father, Eileen Mastin Tabert and Herbert H. Tabert, Jr., brother, Herbert H. Tabert III (Chip), sister Natasha A. Tabert, grandparents Thomas and Tomiko Mastin, Maria V. Tabert, and numerous aunts and uncles. Though our loss is tragic, others have already received the gift of life through Erich's donation of his organs. We will miss his presence in our lives but take comfort in knowing that we will be with him again.

Friends may visit on Thursday, November 29, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at Wasatch 7th Ward, 8100 S. Top of the World Drive where friends and family may call from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. Interment after services will be at Mountain View Memorial Estates. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made at Zion's National Bank to the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Scholarship fund in memory of Erich Tabert.

Boasting Bengals: Jessica and Ethan Trump

Jessica Sturm married high school sweetheart Ethan Trump in Yosemite's Ahwahnee Hotel in 2006, just a few months after completing their respective degrees from the University of Utah.

Jessica double majored in Marketing and Business Administration and quickly started a career at a local advertising agency. Ethan graduated with a Technology Communications degree and worked for six years at a small development company. In 2008 he switched careers and became the Marketing Director for another high tech Utah company called Cirque Corp.

For the ten+ years that Ethan and Jessica have been together they've purchased and sold a condo, purchased a home, and traveled the world--the last of which was always a dream of Jessica's. Some of their favorite places include Kyoto, Japan; Balzano, Italy; and Tarangire National Park in Tanzania.

Jessica and Ethan live in Salt Lake City and have three cats, a large garden they are working on, and no big travel plans for the 2009 season.

New Blog Subscription Options

We've added two new features to the blog to help you stay up-to-date with all our postings, now that our reunion planning is in full swing. On the right side of our blog you have the option to subscribe via email or subscribe via a reader. The email option is for if you don't use a reader and would like to have posts brought directly to your email.

Happy reading!

Reunion Payment Information

Hello everyone and happy tax day! We thought today might be an appropriate day to let you know that our Paypal link is up and running for those of you who have mentally and/or verbally planned to attend the reunion in August. For the rest of you, you have until July 15 before the cost will increase, so if you plan to join us, please pay as soon as you can so that we can start to get a count!

Notes about payment fees
Just as a note, the cost for the reunion is $25 a person, but Paypal charges a small fee for us to collect money this way. As Paypal is the easiest form of payment, we hope that you will all bear with us as we need to charge a $1 per person processing fee. You can pay in any form you would like--debit card, credit card, or bank account transfer.

How do I pay my reunion fee?
The link is on the complete reunion info page here.

  1. From the drop-down menu, choose 1 attendee (if only you are coming), or 2 attendees (if you are bringing a guest/your spouse).
  2. Fill in the names of attendees; this field is so we can properly link you with your payment as well as your guest/spouse. Even if it is just you, please fill out this line to help us minimize confusion.
  3. Select the Pay Now link to complete payment.
The cost of the reunion is significantly lower than we thought it would be, so we are grateful that we will be able to throw such a fun party for a fraction of the cost. We promise great food, entertainment, and a good time to just catch up with old friends.

Please leave a comment or email us if you have any questions!

Boasting Bengal: Paul Jewkes

Paul Jewkes has traveled the state but found his love in southern Utah. And that's just not education speaking. He went to Dixie State College on a whim--quite literally; he packed his bags and left at midnight to arrive the day before school started. His whim proved to be a good thing as he was introduced to my wife, Jessica Fotheringham, at the same school. After immediately hitting it off, they dated for four years, married, and 3 years later they had their son, Zander.

Southern Utah continued to infuse Paul's life. He was a corporate trainer for the Olive Garden from 2002 to 2007 while owning a home in Herriman, Utah, but then he moved back to St George, where his family started Sand Hollow Resort. Sand Hollow was rated the number-one place to play in Utah by Golf Week Magazine. So what is he doing now? Selling the resort of course, which is just one part of his experience in real estate, his current industry of choice. In his spare time, Paul has taken up web design as a hobby/source of lunch money and also spends time golfing.

It looks like it is official--Paul loves St. George and says he will not make it back up north anytime soon.

[Check out the information on Paul's resort here, his personal real estate site here, or his family's blog here.]

We're excited to announce the details for our 10 Year Reunion!

Click here to tell us how to contact you!

***ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED, BUT YOU CAN STILL COME TO THE REUNION!*** We accept payment at the door; the cost is $36 per person. Cash or check only.

Date and Venue
Our 10 year reunion will be held on Saturday, 1 August 2009 at the Willow Creek Country Club. We will have a golf tournament in the morning and a dinner in the evening.

Reunion Dinner
The cost of attending the reunion dinner is $25 per person (plus a $1 Paypal processing fee) until July 14. Cost is $35 after July 15. Read all the details about dinner payment here.

Because of the nature of this event, please do not bring young children over the age of 12 months, especially if they are capable of walking away from you easily!

We will also have a cash bar at the dinner for those of you who are interested.

Golf Tournament
The BHS reunion golf tournament will be held on August 1 at Old Mill Golf Course, beginning at 9:30--teams will follow every 8 minutes. Cost is $54 per player (plus $1.50 processing), which includes 18 holes and contributes to a team cart. Registration will not be accepted after July 20. Read all the details about golf payment here.

Play Date
While those that have signed up to play golf, we have organized a play date for the rest of us. Due the nature of our reunion at the Willow Creek Country Club (only allowing children under the age of 12 months), this play date will give you all the opportunity to catch up with each other while meeting some of your friend's little ones.

The Play Date is scheduled for Saturday August 1st at 10:30 a.m. at Butler Park (right behind the Cottonwood Heights Rec Center).
